CONTRABANDO: 

Tonico Lemos Auad, Laura Belem, Alexandre da Cunha, Angela de la Cruz, Urs Fisher, Marcius Galan, Carlos Garaicoa Fernanda Gomes, Gabriel Kuri, Jorge Macchi, Marepe, Gilberto Mariotti, Muntadas, Peter Piller, Pedro Cabrita Reis, Rosangela Renno, Ricardo Valentim and Lawrence Weiner at Galeria Luisa Strina, São Paulo, Brazil.

The exhibition  gathers 20 artists whose works cross the boundaries between ordination and disorganization, approval and prohibition. Using ideas clandestinely and "stealing" thoughts, these artists create illicit images with appropriate objects. The works chosen  exist in a double zone; between conceptual and concrete, work and play. Artists travel through fields, ideas, and sectors, by lending, transfering and transorming or appropiating their surroundings. 

"Contrabando" has commissioned new works by Lawrence Weiner (USA), Laura Belém (BR), Marcius Galan (BR), Marepe (BR), Gilberto Mariotti (BR) and Pedro Cabrita Reis (PT). Also showing work by T onico Lemos Auad (BR),  Alexandre da Cunha (BR), Angela de la Cruz (ES), Urs Fisher (CH), Carlos Garaicoa (CU), Fernanda Gomes (BR), Gabriel Kuri (MX), Jorge Macchi (AR), Muntadas (ES), Peter Piller (DE), Rosangela Renno (BR) and Ricardo Valentim (PT). 

The artist Ricardo Valentim organized daily sessions of film projection (70 in total) during the whole period of the exhibition.
